FRIDO: Your Destination for Ergonomic Body Support Products
In the bustling city of Pune, a brand named Frido has emerged as a beacon for those seeking effective and affordable body support solutions. From seat cushions to backrests, neck support pillows, and shoe insoles, Frido aims to cater to the diverse needs of its consumers.
The genesis of Frido can be traced back to Ganesh Sonawane, the founder of Arcatron Mobility, a company specializing in wheelchairs. Amidst the pandemic, Sonawane found himself grappling with intense back pain induced by prolonged hours of working from home in less-than-ideal ergonomic conditions. Despite scouring the market for suitable products, he found no respite. Determined to address this issue, Sonawane embarked on a journey of research and development, consulting with experts in ergonomics to craft solutions tailored to alleviate discomfort and promote better posture.
In February 2022, Frido was born under the umbrella of Arcatron Mobility, marking the dawn of a new era in body support products. Today, Frido offers a comprehensive range of offerings, including backrests, coccyx-support seat cushions, neck pillows, and more, available both through its website and renowned online marketplaces like Amazon. Moreover, its shoe insoles have found a place in over 1,000 offline retail stores across key cities in India.
With a recent infusion of growth capital from healthcare giant OrbiMed, Frido is poised to expand its research endeavors and broaden its product line. Embracing the ethos of 'Make in India,' the brand takes pride in its domestic manufacturing processes, ensuring that its offerings are not only affordable but also tailored to suit the needs of Indian consumers.
Frido's journey is marked by innovation and adaptability. In response to the pandemic, the brand introduced a range of face masks renowned for their efficacy and breathability, swiftly becoming a best-selling item. Building on this success, Frido continues to innovate, with its backrests and cushions offering tailored support for the lower back and tailbone, quickly becoming customer favorites.
As Frido looks to the future, it envisions becoming a one-stop destination for all ergonomic needs. Plans are underway to introduce orthopedic footwear and expand its retail footprint through company-owned stores. With a focus on customer retention and product enhancement, Frido aims to achieve an annual revenue rate of Rs 120 crore by the end of FY24, signaling its commitment to both profitability and customer satisfaction.
