Pandemic-Originated Premium Men's Fashion Brand Aims for Rs 100 Crore Revenue

Amol Goel, an IIM Calcutta alumnus, founded Louis Stitch in November 2019, aiming to revolutionize men's fashion in India. The startup seeks to bridge the gap between Indian and international men's fashion by offering luxury products with a strong focus on design and quality. Traditional men's fashion brands in India often lack innovation and offer limited color choices, but Louis Stitch is changing this narrative by introducing more than 11 colors and numerous designs in men's footwear.

Louis Stitch recently secured Rs 5 crore in a pre-Series A funding round from Space World Group, a conglomerate with interests in various sectors. This funding will support the company's expansion plans, including increasing its product range in men's wear, expanding its retail presence across major Indian cities, and launching its first brand outlet.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Louis Stitch faced challenges but managed to sustain growth. The startup initially focused on formal and semi-formal footwear, later expanding into accessories like wallets, ties, belts, and socks. In May 2023, the company entered the apparel segment, introducing formal shirts and polo t-shirts that gained traction among customers.

Louis Stitch sources premium materials from countries like Argentina, Germany, and Egypt and operates a 70,000 sq. ft. warehousing unit in Gurugram for efficient distribution. The startup has established a strong online presence through its website and prominent e-commerce platforms, including Myntra, Flipkart, Amazon, Nykaa Fashion, and Ajio.

With a strong customer base exceeding one million, Louis Stitch achieved a gross revenue of Rs 45 crore in FY23, aiming to reach Rs 100 crore for FY24. The company's future plans include launching a robust apparel range with 150-200 new designs monthly and introducing premium casual footwear. Louis Stitch positions itself as a go-to brand for premium luxury fashion, competing with foreign luxury players while offering high-quality products at affordable prices.
